VIDEO: Bayer Leverkusen Star Javier Hernandez Outdoes Himself With Hilarious Penalty Fail

Published on: 11 January 2017

Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez has endured mixed fortunes of late, making the headlines for the wrong reasons last month after missing an awful penalty against Freiburg.

The former Manchester United man stepped up to take the spot-kick, only to roll the ball down the centre of the goal, which was easily stopped byFreiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow.

Hernandez proved that it wasn't just a one off this week in training, as he fluffed his lines once again from 12-yards out, this time attempting (and failing) a 'Panenka' chipped penalty.

He can be seen in the video below stepping up confidently before lobbing the ball straight into the grateful grasp of the goalkeeper.

The Mexican international did, however, end his 102-day goalscoring drought this week, scoring a fine header againstAtletico Mineiro on Wednesday in a 1-0 win.

The Bundesliga side are currently taking part in the Florida Cup as they aim to keep fitness levels high before league games resume next weekend.
