Black Stars captain Andre Ayew spoke immediately after winning their opening group game in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and lauded the Cape Coast fans for the team's success on Thursday evening.
A goal apiece in each half from Thomas Partey and Kudus Mohammed ensured coach Kwesi Appiah's side began the campaign on a flying note at home.
Ayew, who was overwhelmed by the crowd that filled the stadium said the team can only be appreciative of fans that trooped into the Cape Coast Stadium to cheer them to victory.
The Swansea City star admits that the support propelled the Black Stars to win and would want the team to return to Cape Coast for more games in the future.
