Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah last Sunday scored what could possibly be a goal of the season contender for Yeni Malatyaspor in a 3-1 defeat against Buyuksehir Ezurumspor in match day 15 in the Turkish Super Lig.
In a game where the home side dominated the possession and created more scoring opportunities, Acquah was the brightest spot for Malatyaspor as they suffered their first defeat after a nine game unbeaten run.
Malatyaspor trailed in the first-half after Ricardo Gomes gave the visitors the lead in the 44th minute. The Ghanaian leveled the score in the 62 minute when he received the ball close to the attacking third of the opponents, turn around two opposition midfielders approaching from behind, strode forward and fired passed two advancing defenders into the right top corner .
Unfortunately, for the home side, Buyuksehir managed to score two additional goals to walk away with three maximum points. Malatyaspor are 8th on the league rung in the Turkey Super Lig with a game in hand.
Afriyie Acquah has featured in all 14 league matches, contributing two goals in attack.
