Video: Ghanaians give Black Stars captain Andre Ayew rousing welcome in Qatar

Ghanaian football supporters welcomed Black Stars captain Andre Ayew with jama songs as he arrived in Qatar for the forthcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The skipper acknowledged them and hug some of the supporters who were extremely delighted to see him.

The Black Stars of Ghana entered Doha, Qatar in style as footballghana.com earlier reported. The players wore traditional smocks called fugu and got Ghanaians and other foreign nationals talking. They were all surprised and happy to see the players in the fugu.

Before flying to their base in Qatar the Black Stars of Ghana beat Switzerland 2-0 in an international friendly. Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu and Bristol City attacker Antoine Semenyo scored for Ghana.

The team then had a recovery training session the next morning then packed their packs to Doha.

The supporters also stormed the team's hotel and blasted a lot of well-known jama songs. Hotel security looked on as the supporters drummed and danced.

Ghana will open its 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against European superpower Portugal on November 24 at Doha's Stadium 974.

Four days later, the Black Stars return to action against Asian superpower South Korea at Al Rayyan's Education City Stadium.

The Black Stars, in their fourth FIFA participation, will conclude their group stage game against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
