VIDEO: Hazard Tried to Recreate a Chelsea Legend's Goal From 1997 in Sunday's Match vs Southampton

Published on: 30 October 2016

Did any ofyou older Chelsea fans notice something familiar when Eden Hazard scored the opening goal against Southampton on Sunday?

Well, some supporters reckon it was quite similar to the one Blues legend Gianfranco Zola scored against Manchester United nearly 20 years ago.

Hazard, who showed some really terrible form last season, seems to be back to his best. And like he said earlier in the season, when he's on form, Chelsea are hard to beat. The Belgian scored with a magnificent strike from a tight angle quite early in the match, and it looks a near copy of Zola's goal from 1997.

Check it out below.

So here's Hazard's strike:

And then Zola's...

Not very far off, right?!

What's certain is that Chelsea currently sit fourth in the league on 22 points after 10 games played; they are a single point behind joint league leaders Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
