VIDEO: Irate Kotoko supporters call for coach Kjetil Zachariassen to be sacked over Confederation Cup failure

A good number of Kumasi Asante Kotoko are calling on the management of the club to as a matter of urgency sack head coach Kjetil Zachariassen for his inability to guide the team to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The gaffer who succeeded CK Akonnor some four months ago has failed woefully in the two continental inter-club competitions in the last two months.

The Porcupine Warriors despite making steady progress in the CAF Champions League were eventually knocked out by Tunisia giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel at the final playoff round to the money zone.

After subsequently falling into the final qualifying round to the group phase of the Confederations Cup, the Kumasi-based side was drawn against FC San Pedro from Cote d’Ivoire.

At the end of a two-legged encounter over the weekend, the Ivorians have progressed ahead of the Ghana Premier League giants after winning 2-1 on aggregate.

Fans in Abidjan who watched Kotoko on Sunday afternoon were left fuming after the game and attacked the team’s bus protesting for coach Kjetil Zachariassen to be sacked.
