The son of Asante Kotoko head coach Seydou Zerbo who passed earlier this week has been laid to rest.
The 10-year-old boy passed due to complications after undergoing heart surgery.
After the sad demise of the boy, Coach Seydou Zerbo was given time off and travelled to Burkina Faso in midweek.
“Asante Kotoko management has granted Coach Seydou Zerbo a two-weeks off-duty after losing his son Zerbo Faical Mamadou on Tuesday evening in Burkina Faso.
“The Head Coach will head to Burkina Faso today from the Kotoka International Airport,” a statement from Asante Kotoko said on Wednesday, March 8.
Today, the coach was present when with the help of family and friends he buried his son.
While mourning his son’s demise in Burkina Faso, Coach Seydou Zerbo will miss the Asante Kotoko match against FC Samartex later this month.
In his absence, assistant Coach Wellington will be in charge of the team.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have urged fans to remember the grieving coach and his family in prayers during this difficult period.
