Borussia Dortmund striker,Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, missed a sitter in Gabon's 0-0 drawwith Cameroon - their third successive draw of the tournament - which has resulted in their early elimination from AFCON...

Despite scoring two goals, Aubameyang failed to win a single game with his side who are the first hosts to get knocked out in the group stages since Tunisia in 1994.

The tournament could've gone a very different way for the hosts if luck had been on their sideas they finished in third - just two points behind Cameroon. Aubameyang's chance wasn't the only good chance of the game for Gabon either who were unlucky not to score from this chance.

Cameroon on the other hand progressed to the knockout stages despite missing key players through a Joel Matip-led boycott, reportedly due to a 'bad experience' with previous managerial staff.

Burkina Faso were the other qualifiers, topping the group with five points after a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau

Cameroon and Burkina Faso join Senegal and Ghana as the only teams to have made it through the group stages so far with the rest of the group games coming over the course of the next week.

The final is scheduled to take place on Sunday 5th February at the 40,000 seater Stade d'Angolndje in Gabon's capital city of Libreville, whilst Aubameyang and co. head back home to resume club football.
