Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak through the penalty shootout to book a date with Karela United in the finals of the tier 1 of the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition earlier today.
One moment that made headlines as far as the battle of the longtime rivals is concerned is when Kotoko striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu opened the scoring for his side.
The Porcupine Warrior who is in devastating form in the Special Competition finished off a well-worked move to power the team into the lead. His low drive on the 5th minute beat Hearts goalkeeper Ben Mensah who was given the nod over Richmond Ayi.

The match eventually ended 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes but Kotoko went on to win 5-4 in the penalty shootout.
