Ghana forward Caleb Ekuban scored a hat-trick as Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor beat Greek club AEK Athens 3-1 on Thursday night in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the Europa League.
Playing as the away side, Transonspor went behind just four minutes into the first half of the match when Marko Livaja scored from inside the penalty box.
Ekuban restored parity for his side on the 29th minute before adding another with just a minute to end the first half to ensure his side went into the break with a deserved lead.
The Black Stars attacker popped up once again in the second half and showed good positioning before powering a low drive into the back of the net to complete his hat-trick.
Trabzonspor now has a massive advantage going into the second leg of the tie next week.
