Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu Safiu was on target on Saturday afternoon when his Trelleborgs FF side suffered a 2-1 defeat to J Sodra in the Swedish Superettan League.
The forward was handed another starting role in attack this weekend as his side aimed for the maximum three points. At the end of a game that produced five goals however, he ended up on the losing side.
Trelleborgs FF conceded just under five minutes into the first half when Jakob Orlov fired the visitors into the lead.
They later recovered and scored with a quick counter-attack which was completed by Safiu after he dinked his strike beautifully over the opposing goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
From there, Trelleborgs FF grew in confidence and scored a second through Sebastien Ohlsson to ensure they went into the break with the lead.
That strike was however not enough with two goals from Edin Hamidovic Alexander Jallow and in the second half turning the scoreline in favour of J Sodra. The away side defended that lead and emerged as 3-2 winners at the end of the 90 minutes.
