AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan scored his goal for the Black Stars of Ghana against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on Wednesday.
Afena-Gyan connected to Gideon Mensah's ball to give Ghana a second goal at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Felix Afena-Gyan has had a memorable year, he made his debut for Ghana against Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoffs. He played a role in Ghana booking a ticket to the global showpiece in Qatar.
Ghana are in Group E alongside the Central African Republic, Madagascar, and Angola.
Felix Afena-Gyan was substituted in the 75th minute to a round of applause from the excited supporters at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The 19-year-old is the first Ghanaian to win the maiden Conference League. Felix Afena-Gyan won the trophy with Roma in their 1-0 win against Dutch club Feyenoord last month.
