The Black Stars B team of Ghana sadly lost to their counterpart of Senegal on penalties in the final of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations tournament on Sunday night at the Stade Lat Dior.
In a game where the defending champions had high hopes of winning, they were outplayed throughout the regulation time and went on to lose the trophy at the end of the penalty shootout.
Youssouph Badji gave Senegal the lead on the 108th minute after firing in a cut-back cross from Niang. An instant impact from Ghana, however, saw Joseph Esso drawing parity for his side a minute later.
The match eventually ended with nothing to separate the two sides and was forced into the penalty shootout.
Senegal won the shootout 3-1 and deservedly won the 2019 edition of the WAFU Cup of Nations tournament.
