Ghana Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko posted a resounding 2-0 win over Nigerian club Kano Pillars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 25, 2019, to advance into the second round of this year’s CAF Champions League.

The victors lost the first leg 3-2 when they visited the Kano-based side a fortnight ago.

Having engaged their opponent yesterday afternoon, the Porcupine Warriors managed to overturn the deficit from the first leg to ensure they walked away with a 4-3 aggregate win.

In-form Kelvin Andoh who joined the club this summer found the back of the next just 4 minutes into the first half to give Kotoko the lead before explosive winger Emmanuel Gyamfi cemented the win with another goal in the second half on the 79th minute.

The result now sees them moving to the next round of the competition and closer to the group stage (money zone).

Kotoko has set up a date with Tunisia giants Etoile du Sahel in the second round of the competition.
