West Bromwich Albion supporters are famed for their iconic 'boing boing' chant at both home and away games, but there wasa new tune on the songbook this weekend as Baggies supporters hilariouslysang 'we've got the ball, we've got the ball' during their humbling defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

Tony Pulis' side rarely boast a possession statistic above 35%, and in light of the58-year-old's recent contract extensionat the Hawthorns, fans have ironically decided to celebrate while their side are in possession of the ball.

When West Brom inevitably lost the ball against Pep Guardiola's side, the fans responded by singing 'we've lost the ball, we've lost the ball'.

Genuinely funny from the WBA fans. Singing "we've got the ball" when in possession then switching to "we've lost the ball" when City have it pic.twitter.com/EljghHyhri

Although the chant is glaringly obvious, the comedy value shows just how amusing attending live football can be.

City ultimately thumped the Baggies 4-0 on Saturday, withIlkay Gundogan and Sergio Aguero sharing two goals a piece.

The win leaves City at the top of the league, joint with Arsenal and Liverpool, while West Brom slip down into 15th having fallen to their fourth defeat of the season.
