For a very long time, no team from the Northern side of Ghana has been able to achieve this feat despite their dominance in previous league campaigns.

Real Tamale United who are in the Ghana lower tier side was a force to reckon with some years ago in the Ghana league, but never achieved this feat.
For All Stars they have written their name in the history books of Ghana Football as the first team from that side of the country to have won a league title.
