West Africa Football Academy defender Caleb Amankwa has ruled out any move to a local side, insisting he wants a move abroad.

The right back flourished in the just ended Ghana Premier League season, starting 27 times for WAFA and earning a Black Stars B call up along the way, although could not make the cut for the WAFU Championship.

After a successful season which saw WAFA place second in the Ghana Premier, the versatile defender has emerged a target of giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Champions Aduana stars.

However, the 20 year old right back has ruled out a move to any of the local clubs, indicating he wants to move abroad to continue his career.

“Our sporting director (Brooklyn) decided to move me abroad but am yet to hear from him again”, he told Kumasi-based FOX 97.9 FM.“He informed me about the letter from Aduana am a bit confused because I don’t really know his position for now and am a bit worried. He has however assured me of a chance to travel abroad and am yet to take a decision though,’’ he added.

“My aim is to travel. I don’t have in mind playing in the Ghana league again, I want to travel. Even if any Ghanaian club brings an offer am not ready to go,”

Am aware Aduana have presented their transfer request letter (to WAFA) but to me as a player I don’t have in mind playing for Aduana, all am expecting is the fulfillment of what he (Brooklyn) told me,” Caleb ranted.

The player is likely to move to Europe with reports suggesting he will be moving to Austria to join Red Bull Salzburg’s join side Liefering.
