WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations: Black Starlets hold first training at Robert Mensah Stadium ahead of kick off

The Black Starlets held their first training session at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium ahead of their opening game against Nigeria in the 2022 WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

On Thursday, the team led by Coach Samuel Fabin had the opportunity to train at the venue as they prepare for the upcoming event on Saturday. Coach Fabin had full house at training around 9:00 AM with no issues in camp with regards to health or injury.

The Black Starlets arrived in Cape Coast on Wednesday to continue with preparations towards their epic encounter against rivals Nigeria in this year's WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana will open their campaign against Nigeria, their bitter rivals.

The entire team completed the training session with head coach Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin excited with attitude of players.

They are aiming at picking up their first win of the tournament to commence grand final target.

With seven countries including the defending Champions Ivory Coast, Benin, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Togo all eyeing for a slot to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, host Ghana will need a win against Nigeria for a better campaign.

The Black Starlets would aim for a ticket to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after crashing out at the Group stages in the last edition in Togo.

Tournament will commence on Saturday June 11 to Friday June 24, 2022.
