Captain for the Black Stars B team, Shafiu Mumuni has assured Ghanaians back home that the team will do all they can to beat Senegal in the finals of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations tournament.
Ghana will be chasing a third successive triumph today when they take on the host nation of this year’s West African showpiece.
The team has been impressive on the road to the final where they beat Gambia, Burkina Faso, and Cote d’Ivoire. The other finalists, Senegal has been equally good and boast of one of the best teams at the tournament.
Ahead of the epic meeting between the two teams, Shafiu Mumuni is booming with confidence and insists Ghana will retain the trophy at the end of 90 minutes of football in Thies.
“I believe in myself and my colleagues and I assure Ghanaians that we will bring the trophy home on Sunday”, he said in a pre-match interview on Saturday.
The Ashanti Gold attacker has scored four goals for the Black Stars B and will be integral to the success of the team in today’s final.
The match will come off at 19:00GMT at the Stade Lat Dior.
