WAFU Cup: Black Queens midfielder Priscilla Okyere rues missed chances against Ivory Coast

Black Queens midfielder Priscilla Okyere has lamented over missed chances in their WAFU Cup of nations opener against Ivory Coast on Wednesday. 

Ghana lost to the host, Ivory Coast 1-0, courtesy a second half goal from Captain Dominique Thiamale. The Black Queens created several chances, and could have won the game but spurned all the opportunities.

Priscilla Okyere, who is a key part of the team was stunned by the chances missed and was disappointed for the defeat.

"We created several chances in the first half," she said after the game. "We had a plan for the second half, we listened to what the coach said in recess, we tried everything on the pitch, but lost."

"We could have beat them (Ivory Coast) 4-0 in the first half but this is football."

"Once we could not take our chances and the once chance they had, they scored."

The attacking midfielder was however confident going forward, insisting they have learnt a lot for thr game and can go far in the competition.

"We have learnt a lot from the game," she added.

The Black Queens will next face Niger, who lost their opener against Burkina Faso.
