The GFA said this in a statement after the former Black Stars winger resigned from his role as head coach.

The Black Starlets were eliminated after losing 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the last four stage at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday.

After the game, Laryea announced at his press conference that he has taken a decision to leave his role months ago.

“Coach Kingston announced to the players and the coaching staff that he has resigned,” the GFA statement said.

“He failed to attend the Team’s evening meeting with the Management Committee and has since not reported at the Team Hotel. The GFA duly accepts Laryea’s resignation.”

In the wake of Kingston's departure, his assistant coaches, Jacob Nettey and Nana Agyemang, will assume control of the Black Starlets for their third-place playoff match against Nigeria on Tuesday.
