The Black Starlets Ghana drew goalless with Niger on Wednesday in a Group A tie of the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championships.

The match was the second for Niger while Ghana was experiencing the tournament for the first time.

Ghana began the match positively but they failed to score even when they were handed a chance with a penalty in the 42nd minute.

Simon Asamoah of Wa All Stars missed the kick to leave the score blank at half-time.

The second half did not produce any chances but Asamoah’s penalty miss almost proved costly for Ghana in the 90th minute when Niger attempted a shot but David Cudjoe managed to punch the away.

Ghana will take on Togo in their second match on Saturday and will need a victory to make it to semi-finals of the tournament.
