Wakaso leads the chart for most yellow-carded players in La Liga this season

Ghanaian international Mubarak Wakaso remains the most yellow-carded player in the Spanish La Liga in the ongoing season after match week 14.

The Deportivo Alaves midfield enforcer has been impressive for his side since the campaign started and has managed to establish himself as one of the top-performing players.

Besides that, one record the Black Stars player is holding on to is the number of yellow cards received by a player in La Liga so far.

The statistics available have Wakaso on the top of the chart having received as many as eight (8) yellow cards.

He is followed by Sevilla's Fernando (7), Gerard Piqué, Chimy Ávila and Granada players Germán, Soldado and Yangel Herrera (all on 6).

Per the rules of the Spanish La Liga, Wakaso is just two yellow cards away from receiving his second suspension in the La Liga for his season.

He is expected to feature for Alaves this weekend when they welcome Real Madrid to the Mendizorroza.

It is a game that the Mubarak Wakaso will typically not shy away from getting in the hard tackles but he will need to be careful to ensure he avoids suspension before the end of December.
