Ghanaian international Mubarak Wakaso has returned to training with his Deportivo Alaves teammates after successfully undergoing surgery on his fractured hand.

The hardworking midfielder sustained the injury on his right hand during his club’s weekend fixture against Osasuna where they lost 4-2 in the Spanish La Liga.

Further checks on the hand revealed that he has a fracture to the metacarpus. He had surgery on Tuesday to correct the injury and has now started training with his teammates.

Deportivo Alaves shared yesterday after the surgery: “Wakaso Mubarak has been intervened today in the Mutualia HAR of the fracture in the metacarpus of his right hand that he suffered in the last match against CD Osasuna”.

“The intervention has elapsed as scheduled and from tomorrow will return to training with the rest of the team.”

Though he will miss Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe, he will be cleared to feature for Alaves very soon.
