Manchester United have completed the signing of Welsh Under-14 star Levent Gundogan after a glowing report from Academy boss, Nicky Butt, as perThe Sun.

The youngster's former club, the Connah's Quay Nomads, state that Gundogan was given a six-week trial by the Red Devils after scoring four goals for the North Wales development squad at Carrington - United's training ground.


The Welsh prodigy went on to impress United scouts as they offered him a full-time contract. Gundogan was only drafted into the developmental squad this season after two years in the Nomads academy.

A Nomads spokesman said: [He's] a very gifted player who is comfortable up front or in attacking midfield.


Levent's attitude and commitment to training and the club have been first-class and we wish him all the best during his time at Manchester United.


He performed well in the game which saw him score four goals in a four all friendly, away at Carrington.

From this he was awarded asix week trial, for which he has been successful and signed a full time contract with Manchester United Academy last week.�


So now, Manchester is the home of two Gundogan's with the Welsh youngster's namesake Ilkay playing for bitter rivals City.


The German midfielder is currently ruled out for the season through a knee injury, but has established himself as one of the finest at his trade in the world.

Levent has got a long way to go to reach his levels, but the faith United are placing in him suggest that this could be a name to look out for in the future.
