Ghanaian International, Solomon Asante was in fine form on Saturday as he bagged a brace to help his USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC to defeat OKC Energy 4-1 at the Taft Stadium‎ in Oklahoma City.

The pacey winger has been outstanding since the start of the season, contributing immensely to help his side go top of the division.

The former TP Mazembe winger impressed once again over the weekend when the USL Championship side visited OKC Energy on match week 16. The Ghanaian dictated play and found the back of the net to propel his team to another emphatic win.

Leading by a goal to nil, Solomon Asante got on the end of a sweet cross from Defender Amadou Dia from the left-hand side and smashed it in to give his side a two-goal cushion.

Shortly after that equalizer, OKC Energy halved the deficit courtesy a penalty kick converted by Rafael Garcia.

From there on Phoenix Rising FC had to play with 10-men after their player J.Farell was shown a second yellow card.

Despite being a man down, the USL Championship leaders returned from the break and scored two additional goals on top of some good defensive play.

Midfielder Jon Bakero made it 3-1 when he curled in a free kick before red hot Solomon Asante added the last goal on the 79th minute to make it 4-1.

This was the six game in a row that the Ghanaian international has found the back of the net. He has now become the first Phoenix Rising player to reach double-digit in terms of goals. He boasts of a total of 10 goals from 13 matches and has 8 assists to his name as well.
