Walter Mazzarri has dismissed concerns surrounding the form of Odion Ighalo, and has backed the Watford striker to find the back of the net very soon.
The Hornets boss spoke to the press ahead of his side's Premier League match against Swansea City at the weekend, and was quizzed over Ighalo's lack of goals since the season began.
Ighalo has struggled to replicate the form that made him a formidable foe in the English top flight last term, with the 27-year-old registering just two goals in all competitions in 2016/17.
Ighalo was left on the substitutes' bench for Watford's 1-0 triumph over Middlesbrough last Saturday amid speculation that Mazzarri had run out of patience with his poor performances.
Mazzarri, however, refuted suggestions that he had lost belief in the Nigeria international, and said that everyone at the club was backing Ighalo to turn his fortunes around.
He said: He still has confidence because we as a team have confidence in him.
There are periods where players are more in form than others. But we believe in him and it is just a matter of him scoring.
Mainly what I ask from my forwards is not to score but to play well. Of course he came back from Nigeria two days ago so it is very difficult to prepare.
I have four forwards and various options and will make a decision later.
The Italian also commented on the displays of young forward Isaac Success, who replaced Ighalo in the starting line up for the trip to the Riverside Stadium last time out.
The 20-year-old bagged his first Watford goal in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth before the international break, and followed that up with a bright performance against Aitor Karanka's charges on Teeside.
Despite being pleased with the Nigeria Under-23 international, though, Mazzarri stated that his young protege still needed time and patience to adapt to the rigours of Premier League football.
He added: "He played well, as did the whole team, but he did much better in the other games when he came on from the bench.
"It's not easy to start a game. It`s completely different but if he gets his full condition then he also needs to learn some things and he will be a great player."
