Black Queens striker Priscilla Adubea says the team is happy with interim Coach Mercy Tagoe, and would be content if the Football Association handed her the job.
Mercy Tagoe was assistant to Mas Ud Didi Dramani before his departure to Norway. However, following his move to abroad, the Football Association was reported to have appointed Sellas Tetteh as the new head coach.
Meanwhile, Sellas Tetteh on Monday joined lower tier side Tamale City FC and Coach Mercy Tagoe who led the Black Queens to success at the WAFU Cup of Nations looks set to be handed the job.
Black Queens striker Priscilla Adubea, on the arrival of the team indicated the players are happy with the Coach and would love to see her stay.
“We are happy for the Coach, it is the first time a female Coach has led the team to success and we are happy,” she said.
“When we were leaving she told us we were doing it for ourselves and if we won we take the glory and we make our country also proud,”
“We also knew if we win we’d make her proud too, and obviously she has proven she is the right person for the job,”
“We listened to her and worked according to her instructions and that’s how we won the trophy,”
“But as players we are ready to work with any Coach but with what she has done, the decision is the FA’s to make,” she concluded.
