Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has disclosed that they are in talks with the Ghana Football Association to opt for a new home grounds ahead of the second round of the football season.

Prior to the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, the Porcupine Warriors opted to use the Accra Sports Stadium as their home grounds due to the renovation works which is still ongoing at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

However, several attempts have been made by the club to move away from Accra Sports Stadium but all efforts have proven futile.

But according to Mr Amponsah, with the FA crusading to spread the love of football, they are still engaging the country’s football governing body to move away from the Nation’s Wembley.

“The cost of playing in Accra is not easy and we are still engaging the Ghana Football Association,” he told Adom TV.

“We want to play in Obuasi or Tamale because we feel we can spread the love of the game by playing at those areas and so we are only calling on the FA to bear with us,” he added.

Meanwhile, the National Sports Authority have assured that Kotoko will return to their home grounds by the end of March.
