Chairman of the Premier League Management Committee, Lepowura MND Jawula says his outfit is looking to principally at the standards of English Premier League in order to improve the domestic league.

Speaking during the Committee’s first meeting with the media which was held at the GFA secretariat on Wednesday, Jawula reiterated his commitment to improving the standards in the GPL.

"We are looking principally at the standards of English Premier League and we think that we too can get that far. The Ghana Premier League has been in operation for so many years and there is no reason why we cannot get to those standards that has been achieved by other countries", Jawula said in his press-briefing.

The 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season will kick off on the weekend of December 27.

The League Management Committee will serve a one-year term, and the GFA will engage Premier League Clubs towards an autonomous league.
