Kumasi Asante Kotoko winger Emmanuel Gyemfi says the team is ready for the CAF Confederations Cup challenge after being drawn with 9 times Congolese champions CARA.
The FA Cup winners were paired with Club Athletic de Renaissance Aiglon form the DR Congo, a tie which will see the porcupine Warriors host their opponents in the first leg in Kumasi on the weekend of February 9-11 next year.
Kotoko are representing Ghana following their triumph in the MYN FA Cup, meanwhile CARA finished third in the Congolese league.
However, Emmanuel Gyemfi, arguably Kotoko's best player last season told the club's TV channel the players are poised for the competition and that they will make their fans proud.
“We will be facing CARA from Congo and CARA is a good team in the Congolese League,” he told Asante Kotoko TV.
“We not really concern about the team we will be facing, for us we are ready for the challenge and we will do everything possible to win for our fans.”
The Porcupine Warriors last represent Ghana in Africa four years ago where they were evicted in the preliminary stages.
Meanwhile, CEO of the Club Dr. Kwame Kyei has tasked the technical team to lead the club into the group stages of the compwtition.
Coach Steve Pollack and the boys have began preseason exercise and are looking at beefing the side ahead of the start of next season.
