Edward Nii Odoom, the coach of Hearts of Oak has revealed that his team is ready to compete in the continental competition but COVID-19 is standing in their way.
They have not featured in any of the inter club competitions organized by CAF since 2015. The Phobians are currently 8th on the Ghana Premier League table.
"When it is about playing in Africa, my team is ready but we cannot play because of COVID-19," he told Happy FM.
"But the conditions around the coronavirus pandemic can't make us play in Africa. This is because you wouldn't know the actual conditions in the country you are going to play in. You have to ensure that everyone is safe."
Hearts of Oak have not won a major trophy since 2009 and Edward Nii Odoom has been tasked with leading the Accra-based outfit to the promised land.
