Asokwa Deportivo were dealt a huge psychological blow ahead of their Division One League NC Special Competition match against Achiken FC following an armed robbery attack on the team while on their way to Prestea.
The incident which happened in the early hours of Sunday morning revealed that no player or management member got injured. However, items such as mobile phones, jerseys, player registration cards and the sum amount of GHS2,700 were taken away.
The team in a statement has confirmed no injuries and grateful to God for they are safe and sound.
"In all things, we give The Almighty Lord all the praise for safely guiding us through a near-death experience from armed robbers as we were embarking on our trip to Prestea in the early hours of this morning".
"We are all safe and sound even though most of our valuables were taken".
Meanwhile, Management has lodged a complaint to the Jocobu Police Station.
