Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has pleaded with the fans following the club’s unimpressive performance this season.

The defending champions are on the verge of losing the Ghana Premier League title. They currently occupy 6th position with 44 points after 30 matches into the season.

The Porcupine Warriors are likely to go trophyless this season having been booted out of the FA Cup competition.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the former Ghana FA Presidential candidate admitted his outfit have not lived up to expectations in this campaign and has therefore asked for forgiveness from the fans.

“I will thank Kotoko fans for the support thus far, without them we wouldn’t have being where we are. We are sorry for the disappointment this season. Regardless of everything, we need their support because a friend in need is a friend in deed. We will plead with them to have patience with us and the players. It is painful” he said.

Kotoko will travel to Dawu to face relegated Kotoku Royals in week 31 of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
