A close pal of Christian Atsu, Mubarak Wakaso says the whereabouts of the former Chelsea winger is yet to be known.
Atsu was trapped in a rubble after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Turkey on Monday together with Hatayspor sporting director, Taner Savut.
It emerged on Tuesday that the 31-year-old has been rescued after 26 hours of search and had been admitted at a hospital.
The report added that Atsu suffered foot injuries with difficulty with breathing.
However, Wakaso, who played with Atsu at the Black Stars has issued a statement on his social media accounts urging the media to desist from unsubstantiated reportage.
