We can win AFCON if we get our acts together- Agyemang Badu

Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has encouraged the senior national team on their AFCON hunt but added that they have to get their acts together to get it done.

Ghana last won an AFCON trophy in 1982. They have had three golden opportunities to win the crown since then but failed (1992, 2010 and 2015).

Agyemang-Badu in particular was present in the 2010 and 2015 edition which Ghana lost to Egypt and Ivory Coast respectively.

In an interview with BA TV, the Hellas Verona player expressed his belief that the team will end the drought.

“Sometimes you will need the luck to achieve your goal in football tournament but it becomes incomprehensible to me when I start thinking about why we are not winning the AFCON title” he said.

“But I believe we can win the AFCON trophy one day if we get our acts together,” he concluded.

The 29 year old has made 78 caps for the Black Stars so far. He is currently on loan from Udinese.
