We don't have the adequate funds to play in Africa - Medeama SC

The bankroller of the Medeama SC Moses Parker has disclosed that his outfit do not have adequate funds to represent Ghana in Africa.

However, the club owner said the Yellow and Mauves lads have not petitioned the Normalization Committee of Ghana Football to give them the nod to play in the 2019 CAF Champions League.

It was earlier reported in the local media that Medeama have written to the country's interim football governing to rescind its decision of no Ghanaian club participating in CAF inter-club competitions in 2019.

"We are not ready to represent Ghana in any CAF competition disregard reports circulating in the media," Mr. Parker told Tarkwa-based Medeamaa FM

"There is no iota of truth in those stories. We don't have the money to play Africa for now, let's all help the Normalization Committee.

"We suffered a lot in our last appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup because there was no support from anywhere [not even the government at that time]. It is simple Medeama is not ready to play in Africa"

He concluded: "We don't have the adequate funds to play in Africa.

Medeama reached the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup in their last appearance which was in 2015.
