We gave our best against Pogoń Szczecin - John Yeboah

John Yeboah has reacted to WKS Śląsk Wrocław's win Pogoń Szczecin on Sunday. According to him, the team did their best to get the win despite Pogoń Szczecin dominating possession.

John Yeboah scored in WKS Śląsk Wrocław's 2-0 win against Pogoń Szczecin in the Polish PKO BP Ekstraklasa.

After the first whistle, Kamil Grosicki rushed to the left side of the pitch and played a pass into the penalty area for Pontus Almqvist, but he missed the ball.

Śląsk could respond in the 5th minute when John Yeboah played behind the defense line, Caye Quintana got to the ball, but he missed the goal. This was by far the most dangerous situation for WKS in the first half.

In the 49th minute, after a good action, Victor Garcia played into the penalty area, and there Erik Exposito won the fight in the air and headed the ball into the net.

Śląsk's player was pushed in the box after a corner kick and the referee pointed to the spot. John Yeboah stepped up and made it 2-0.

John Yeboah was substituted in the 90+1 minute. After the game Yeboah spoke to the media.

"Pogoń dominated possession and it was undoubtedly a very difficult match. We defended hard throughout the game and in the end we were able to mercilessly take advantage of the chances we created," he said.

"Such a victory - on a difficult terrain in Szczecin - tastes even better. We all showed character today and we are happy after the victory. The whole team gave it their all and I hope that now we can follow the momentum in the next game,"
