The deputy coach for Ashanti Gold SC, Thomas Duah has stressed with confidence that the team will beat Salitas FC this weekend to progress to the next stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The two clubs drew goalless in the first of the scheduled two-legged tie in the preliminary stages of the continental inter-club competition last weekend at the Len Clay Stadium.

Ahead of the reverse fixture which will be played in Burkina Faso, Ashgold deputy coach Thomas Duah says they will emerge victorious.

According to him, the Miners have seen how Salitas FC play and will outplay them this weekend to get the needed win.

“We have now seen their Salitas style of play and we are confident we will get qualification there at Burkina Faso. It won't be easy traveling 14 hours to Burkina but I don't think it will affect us too much to lose this match,” Coach Thomas Duah told Ashh FM in an interview.

The coach added, “Salitas FC came with a plan to get a draw and they succeed, what we heard about them was, they hold the ball best but we realised we hold the ball better than them and am assuring everyone 100% that we will qualify.”

The crucial second leg tie will be played on Saturday, December 5, 2020.
