We hope to do some good thing going forward - Tariq Lamptey on World Cup experience in Qatar

Black Stars right back, Tariq Lamptey says he hopes the team achieve greater things following despite their early World Cup elimination in Qatar.

Ghana finished at the bottom of Group H with just three points having recorded a win and two defeats.

Tariq made his Black Stars debut before the start of the 2022 World Cup, featuring in the friendly game against Brazil in September last year.

He went on to play against Switzerland before appearing at the Mundial against Portugal and South Korea.

“You are always excited to play for your country no matter in the World Cup, in a friendly game," he told Joy Sports.

"Obviously, the World Cup is special. You think about it when you are a little boy but when you join the team, you are always excited and looking forward to getting down to work.

“We have a great mixture in the team and we are looking forward to doing some good things going forward," he added.

Tariq Lamptey following his nationality switch made his debut against Brazil in a friendly ahead of the Mundial in Qatar.

He is yet to feature under Chris Hughton as head coach of the Black Stars. Lamptey has been left out of Black Stars squad for the matchday five games against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers later this month due to an injury he suffered against West Ham.
