General Manager of Nsoatreman FC, Eric Alagidede says they knew their FA Cup final game against Bofoakwa Tano would be a tough clash.
The two Bono clubs clashed on Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium with Nsoatreman emerging as the champions after winning 5-4 on penalty shootouts.
Speaking in an interview, Alagidede said despite Bofoakwa being relegated to the Division One League, they knew it would be a tough clash against their regional rivals.
"Bofoakwa Tano are relegated from the Ghana Premier League but I keep saying their relegation is about managerial issues but they have a very good team," he told Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.
"We knew it would be a difficult game and when Bofoakwa scored, it made it even more difficult for our team but I was optimistic we were going to win the game and we fought hard to lift the trophy," he added
The game ended 1-1 after regulation time, with Bofoakwa Tano taking the lead in the 21st minute through Richard Dzikoe's close-range strike, assisted by Ali Alhassan's precise cross.
Nsoatreman FC equalized late in the second half when Sadat Mohammed capitalized on a goalkeeper's mistake with a long-range effort.
Nsoatrman FC will be awarded Ghc180,000 as a prize for winning the FA Cup and will also represent Ghana in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup.
