We lost to a better side - Liberty Boss

Head coach of Liberty Professionals, Reginald Asante has attributed their 2-1 lost to AshantiGold in the Betway Cup 2019 to "experience".

The 'Scientific Soccer Lads' failed to match the hosts in the opener of the tournament at the Len Clay Stadium as they fell to Saddick Adams and Salia Outtara screamers.

The experienced gaffer accepted the defeat though but had reservations after the game.

"It was a good exercise, both teams create chances but AshantiGold counted capitalized for a win". Playing a game without creating chances exposes lack of creativity upfront".

"But should it be the other way round when you create but can not convert it's a different story. So, I can't attribute our case to striking crisis", he said at the post match conference.

Reginald continued with the notion that, some of his players (Brite Andoh, Elvis Kyei Baffour and Michael Ampadu), who went for a national team duty had fatigue set in which made them lost the midfield battle.

"We had a little problem in the midfield, some of our players were in the national team camp also our journey from Accra to Obuasi had some challenges".

"But all in all, we lost to a very experienced side", he added.

Coach Reginald Asante’s side will play Aduana Stars in the third-placed match on Sunday at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Aduana Stars, on the other hand, lost heavily to Medeama SC 5-2.
