We should have quality players in our teams to attract supporters - Bechem United President Kingsley Owusu Achiaw

Kingsley Owusu Achiaw, president of Bechem United, has urged club officials to put talented players in their squad in order to draw supporters to their games.

Poor attendance has affected the Ghana Premier League making it difficult for teams to generate the necessary ticket sales to support their operations.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of King Faisal Football Club, Awal Mohammed earlier this month disclosed that the club earned nothing from gate proceeds at the end of the match against Nsoatreman.

Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif has met with various stakeholders to find a solution to the low attendance at match venues.

“First of all, we should have quality players in our teams and that will attract people to come and watch our matches. If you don’t have quality, someone will not sacrifice coming all the way from the house to come and see ordinary players," he told Citi Sports at the 47th edition SWAG Awards.

I believe that we should invest in football in Ghana so that we can retain the good players who will attract the spectators to the stadium,”
