The Sports Manager at FC Nordsjaelland, Jan Laursen has explained that the decision to send Clinton Antwi on loan at Esbjerg fB is to help the youngster continue his development as he stresses that the club has strong belief in the player.
The 20-year old after enjoying a decent campaign in the 2019/2020 football season has been loaned out to the Danish lower-tier club for a year.
Justifying why the full-back has been shipped out, Jan Laursen has indicated that it is to help Clinton Antwi fulfill his potential while stressing that FC Nordsjaelland still has belief in the player.
“We still have a strong belief in Clinton, but we agree that he needs more fighting time on the field to continue his development, fulfill his potential, and come back even stronger.
“He gets good opportunities for that in Esbjerg, and we know he will be in good hands with our former coach Ólafur Kristjánsson”, the Sports Manager said as quoted on the website of FC Nordsjaelland.
He continued, “Clinton is a sympathetic young man with a big heart both on and off the field, and at the same time he has a very high work ethic and always acts professionally in any context. We look forward to following him in Esbjerg”.
Clinton Antwi has already started training at his new club and says he hopes to help the team gain promotion to the Superliga at the end of the season.
