National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has assured that the party will ensure clubs that qualify to play in Africa are given the necessary financial support when they return to government.
This comes on the back of the manifesto launch by the main opposition party where flagbearer Mr. John Dramani Mahama pledged that the next NDC government will commit to the development of football in the country.
Speaking to Kumasi FM, Sammy Gyamfi has noted that the next NDC government will give financial assistance to clubs that play in the CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup.
“Every club that qualifies to play in the CAF Inter-clubs competition will also be supported. The inter-colleges games will also be supported financially with this fund", the NDC communications officer said.
He has also disclosed that the party after coming back to government will establish a sports development fund to generate money to empower clubs.
