GFA club licensing manager, Esme Mends, has asserted that his department will not bend the rules to favor any club.
The Club Licensing Department of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) commenced the inspection of various facilities submitted by elite clubs for the 2024/25 season licensing process on Thursday, August 8th, 2024.
Under the new Club Licensing Regulations, all elite clubs are required to provide main venues, alternative venues, and a training facility. Mends emphasized that all clubs are aware of these requirements and that the rules will be applied equally to everyone.
"That is how it is football we use rules and regulations all the clubs are aware of the requirements they know the regulations they know the rules they know what to do," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com
"I didn't make the laws the law is there waiting for everyone if you are caught you are caught we won't bend any rules for anyone to favour somebody.
"When playing we criticized some things so this time around we have to do the right time and the clubs we want to help them do the right thing so if a venue is not ready and you say it is ready then you are not helping Ghana football.
"I believe this time around previously it was like that a lot of the venues were rejected. This time around I can assure you that what is not ready is not ready,"
