We will run to Otumfuo to beg if we need to sign players - Maxwell Konadu react to ban on player signing

The head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has revealed that he will plead with his Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to allow the club to sign new players when the need arises.

This is coming on the back of the banning of player signing for the next year as directed by the club owner and patron to the newly constituted board of directors.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 9-member board today, Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, Kofi Badu said, “Kotoko management is not allowed to sign a new player for the first team for one year and that is an order by the club patron”.

According to Coach Maxwell Konadu, his technical team will plead for permission if at some point they need to bring in new recruits.

“If the need be to buy players come up, we will plead with Manhyia to allow us to purchase one or two but if we realize what we have is okay, we will move on", he told Oyerepa FM in Kumasi.

Kotoko currently has a squad size of over 35 players and has some of the best local players at its disposal.
