West Brom Could Lose Out on £8m if Troublesome Striker Moves to Serie A or Ligue 1

West Brom could miss out on £8m if disillusioned striker Saido Berahino opts to move abroad in January.

According tothe Sun,Serie A clubs Roma and Inter Milan are interested in the 23-year-old, as are Ligue 1 leaders Nice.

Berahino's contract at the Hawthorns expires at the end of the season, leaving him free to discuss pre-contract terms with otherclubs as of January.

If he were to move to another Premier League club, West Brom would be entitled to around £8m in compensation.

Clubs elsewhere in Europe, however, would only have to pay £300,000 due to differing rules over players moving abroad.

Baggies managerTony Pulis has admitted that there will be another transfer saga surrounding Berahino, but added that he hopes to see the striker remain at the club.

"It's happened before and it'll happen again, there will be people talking to him and telling him what he should and shouldn't be doing," said Pulis, quoted inthe Mirror. "It's up to him to work it out, he's big enough now to make decisions for himself.

"It's a three party one - there were deals 18 months ago for Saido to leave and it didn't suit the club so it wasn't done.

"It has to be Saido, ourselves and the club who want to buy him. I am hoping he will stay and get his head down and want to stay.

"The window opens again and you don't know what's going to happen."

West Brom reportedlyrejected an £18m bid from Tottenham for Berahino on transfer deadline day in 2015.

The striker has, however, made only four appearances in the Premier League so far this campaign.
