West Bromwich Albion defenderJonny Evans has admitted it's taken a little time for him to adapt tothe label of a 'bad boy' on the pitch, after looking set to miss a fixture due to suspension for the first time in five years.

The Northern Ireland international picked up his fifth booking of the season in the side's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at the Hawthorns on Saturday, and will therefore miss Albion's Saturday evening kick-off at Anfield against Liverpool.

The last time the 28-year-old missed a Premier League fixture through suspension was during the 2011/12 campaign, during his stint at Manchester United.

Evans has admitted to being surprised at the increase in yellow cards he has picked up during his last few seasons at Albion.

According to theBirmingham Mail, Evans said: "I'm not used to picking up yellow cards and I've got five already!"

The former Red Devil also suggested that the team should take confidence from their trip to Anfield last season as Tony Pulis' side recorded a 2-2 draw, but admitted it will be a tough test for the team.

"It's always a tough place to go."

"It's always a hard place to go with the atmosphere they create, but let's hope we can get another positive result.

"It will be a tough test."
