West Brom Manager Tony Pulis Praises 'Smashing Lad' Salomon Rondon after 4-0 Burnley Win

West Brom boss Tony Pulis was happy with his side's 4-0 over Burnley on Monday night at the Hawthorns.


A clinical first-half display put the game beyond doubt at half-time, with Matt Phillips, James Morrison and Darren Fletcher all grabbing goals before Salomon Rondon got in on the act after the break with his side's fourth.


Speaking toBBC Sportafter the game, Pulis praised his side for scoring at pivotal times in the game.

"We are pleased - it was going to be a tough game, Sean Dyche's players are honest and hard-working but we got goals at the right time.


"Every three points is enormous and back-to-back wins are very important. I'm pleased for the supporters as well.


Pulis also reserved special praise for striker Salomon Rondon, who deservedly scored after an influential first-half display, while also maintaining his side now needed to look ahead to their next Premier League fixture, an away tie at struggling Hull City.

"We will take every game as it comes - the most important thing is to make sure we are ready for Hull this weekend, that will be such a tough game," Pulis continued.


"I'm pleased, pleased so Salomon, who has upped his game this season. He has settled in, he feels part of the group and he is such a smashing lad."


Rondon's strike was his fourth league goal of the season, while the Venezuela international also set up James Morrison to claim an assist.


The result see the Baggies climb up the table into ninth, while Burnley slip to 12th.
